About The Newark Arcade
With the support of a patient and loyal group of donors, Newark Development Partners (NDP) purchased the 116-year-old Historic Downtown Newark Arcade on November 22, 2019. Today, the Arcade is open—a restored, historic indoor marketplace that adds energy, pedestrian activity, and commerce to Downtown Newark.
NDP’s ongoing stewardship has brought the Arcade back to its original shine and spirit. Visitors shop local retailers, enjoy coffee and treats under the glass canopy, and gather for community moments throughout the year. The Arcade also serves as the indoor home for the winter farmers’ market, strengthening our role as a centerpiece of downtown life.
Retail
The Newark Arcade features a wide array of retailers. From service providers to boutiques, guests can find special items for any occasion. With its varied selection of retail stores, the Newark Arcade is sure to become a favorite destination for shoppers and tourists alike.
Dining
Offering unique dining experiences, Newark Arcade features a variety of dining options, including a bottle shop and lounge, ice cream parlor and coffee shop. It is the perfect spot for a night of fun and relaxation, offering something fresh to the city of Newark.
Apartments
Newark Arcade is the proud home of nineteen loft apartment units. All of the units are one bedroom, with one apartment as an executive suite. It is a living experience in the heart of the city. Renters can enjoy the convenience of being in close proximity to the Arcade’s numerous shops and restaurants.
Come Together
The Newark Arcade is a welcoming place to host community events. With 8,500 square feet of flexible community space, we accommodate everything from small gatherings to larger functions, pop-ups, and markets.
In the winter months, the Arcade partners with the Canal Market District to host the winter farmers’ market—a cozy, walkable destination where neighbors connect and local vendors thrive. The Arcade is where Newark comes together to create unforgettable experiences.
